I would like to share experiences in determining the coefficient of viscosity and diffusivity in hydrodynamics and sediment transport model for coastal zone. I know they depend on grid size of each model. However, for unstructured grid (not steady), should they be determined by minimum or maximum grid size? Do you know of any recommended literature regarding this? Thanks.

It may be right with sediment transport simulation! However, how about that for the case of only hydrodynamics simulation? I mean in case of without info of distribution of grain size?

The question is kind of confusing but look into Einstein's (1906) problem of the viscosity of suspensions and Einstein's (1905) theory of Brownian motion. If you are dealing with sand particles in your problem, diffusivity should be negligible
