Hi,
During our experiments we noticed that nude mice orthotopically grafted with GBM, develop cutaneous pustules when treated with TMZ (schedule: 1 week on and 2 weeks off for 6 cycles). We couldn't identify any bacterial or viral infectious with standard tests. Moreover, these pustules affect the survival of mice.
Does anyone has already faced this phenomena using TMZ and is there any explanation?

Can you upload a gross picture of your infected mice? I also have some bad experience when working with nude mice (immunodeficient mice) that they could develop some opportunity diseases easily!
Does it look like “scaly skin disease"? We got this disease in nude mice when we started to treat some therapies on our models. We have found out that is due to Corynebacterium bovis described in some publications! These bacteria can easily grow in immunodeficient mice and especially when they get sicked due to our therapies!

Many thank for your feedback. Actually, these pustules are solid and looks like a
sebaceous cyst at the beginning and grow thereafter. I have attached a picture to illustrate. it occurs only on mice treated with Temozolomide.

Thanks for your picture. I haven't seen this problem before. I think you can try to contact a pathology department to make it clarified.
In really, it is not a pustule because do not have signal of purulent secretion. Make a biopsy may help you with the diagnosis. Do you think that it could be a metastasis? Solid and fixed mass in cancer animal model seems to me a tumor.
