You need to provide way more information. what type of HPLC do you have, what brand and version of software do you have? Is this message from the HPLC hardware or the software? Does the message come up at start up, after injection, intermittently?

I am using PE series 200 HPLC system with UV detector.TC navigator. I got this message at the status box in the TC navigator window/display. Usually got this error message during washing of column, while running sample (mid of sample run). Sometime got error" Port communication failure" and also got error " Access to sequence failure"
"Port communication error" looks like a communication problem between the components fo your HPLC system. I suggest you to read the user manual to check where this error comes from, also you should call the technical service from the manufacturer. They know their softwares and the harwares. Good luck.
