I am still confused because I don't know how I need o structure my content in " the discussion" chapter

I have finished my data collection and analysis and found some conceptual model regarding my research Q (my research is qualitative); however, I don't know how to move forward in the discussion part... whether I need to refer to some prior empirical study in the similar domain or just elaborate further on my findings?!

Mehrasa Heydarian the first step is to be sure that the abductive approach suits your research objectives. In other words, this approach is used when you have a "preliminary" theory, so you try to build upon it. The second step is to check articles published in the same journal in which you envisage to send/test your paper/chapter, so you adopt the same structure. Best of luck!

I am unfamiliar with abductive research, though I am aware of inductive and deductive. Can anybody clarify? Thanks.

Hi Mehrasa, for abductive approach u can refer blaikie (2016) and blaikie & priest books. I also applied abductive research in my thesis (qualitative). I also refer 1 paper that doing abductive, once i found it in my laptop. I'll info u soonest.

An abductive research is divided into quantitative research and qualitative research, quantitative research lies in the discovery of the objective existence of the regularity of affairs, and to explain the sample of things in the environment. The qualitative study holds that there are differences between non-objective affairs, and attempts to make a special explanation of the sample situation. Quantitative research lies in expanding the breadth, qualitative research lies in the depth of exploration.
