There is plenty to choose from, but best is to buy direct from a manufacturer. You want to make sure the antibody you use is consistent from purchase-to-purchase if you need it for the long term. For example Rockland or CST. If you get lost, Aeonian Biotech can offer extensive selection services to make sure you get what you need without running the risk of disappointment.

The HA-Tag (6E2) Mouse mAb #2367 from Cell Signalling is great. I would strongly recommend it for IHC, ICC, WB and IP. Works like a treat for me. 

As Kae-Kiun suggested, 16B12 is a good antibody.  I would however, make sure that your protein of interest can be detected when tagged with HA first.  I have had many problems with HA tags not being recognized despite every indication that the protein was expressed and the tag present.  Best of luck.

Dear Anne, I am facing the same problem (rat brain sections). Did you try one of the suggested ABs? Would you let me know your results and teh dilution used? best regards

Meanwhile, I tried my luck with the recommended Biolegend anti-HA 16B12 antibody. However, on free-floating sections of mice perfused with 4% PFA, the staining within the expected cell populations was weak (1:1000, less dilution just resulted in more background/ unspecific signal), even though we are pretty sure that virus injection and expression works well. 

Can it be that the HA is masked because of our fixation method?

Michael & Kae-Jiun, did you use a different tissue fixation method or any antigen retrieval protocol, special blocking, ....?  Any leads here would be much appreciated!
