Glomalin is a hydrophobic glycoprotein which would thermotolerant homologous to the heat shock protein. As glycoprotein glomalin stores carbon as proteins and carbohydrates (particularly glucose). She also wears metal ions, which vary depending on soil composition. Glomalin is secreted by arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi associated with roots of several plant species. Glomalin decomposes slowly, which makes it accumulates in the soil. It is estimated that Glomalin contains the thirds of carbon sequestered in soils of the planet.

In addition to what have been said above , glomalin contains proteins of both AMF-and non-AMF origin, in addition to heat stable proteins, generally called glomalin-related soil protein ( GRSP) . It acts as a glue material as a part of soil organic matter in stabilising the soil aggregates of various sizes .This is well proven in perennial crops including citrus . However , it remains to be seen whether or not exogenous application of GRSP acts in the same way , what has been observed with natural GRSP. Glomalin is a complex protein. It is difficult to break down, thus the carbon stored in it is persistent, lasting upwards of 18 years, if you believe the most optimistic researchers. In academic circles, the life span of the molecule is about 12 to 22 years. Please be aware that this molecule was only discovered in 1996, and -- to my knowledge -- a complete molecular formula or Lewis Diagram is non-existent.
