I imported a 3D solid Geometry in SAT format in ANSYS Workbench 15.0. It turned out to be hollow in ANSYS, but it was solid in Autocad. I am attaching screenshots 6 & 7 to support my motion.
When I tried to use FILL command on surfaces to fill it and convert to 3D again, it didnt worked out.
It shows following Error : Model Size is out of Range.
How to Rectify this problem?

I tried to apply the FILL operation on a smaller body. Ad this is what I found out.
I need to fill the hollowness as shown in attachment(IMP).
What i am able to do is fill the cavity which i dont want , as shown in other screenshots(9&10).
if your file format is *.SAT this problem is occur. Can you change format file?
the XT or igs is better.
Earlier i did with *.iges format and i faced same problem, hence i changed the format.
I even tried CAD config tool and directly import in *.dwg format.
Even that didnt worked.
The only solution which seems legit to me now is to provide necessary thickness and fill required spaces.
it doesn't work very well if you select too many surfaces and use fill function, . Reduce the number of selected surfaces and then try it again. It may helps.
Tried and now i realize that it shows this error in each and every boolean operation. I cant even join two small bodies. And the problem with large model support still persists.

i think you should change " add frozen" to " add material".
try it.

When you import geometry, first try to keep solids ON everywhere and see if it is imported. If it is not imported then there is problem in solid model you prepared.

Well apparently the geometry was solid, it appeared to be hollow in DM since frozen transparency was on. Once the geometry was meshed correctly it started showing it as solid. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.
Hi, everyone. I have imported STL file into Ansys workbench. Already checked solid boxes in Ansys. Tried to fill the surface but did not work. The imported model still defined as the surface body. Please help if you have encountered similar issue previously.

In Workbench GUI, if you click on the Geometry you will see properties of schematic on the right (you can use toggle switch in View menu to turn it "on" and "Off"). Turn the option to Solid on "Mixed Imported Resolution" Option. Another way of getting rid of this problem is to use more common geometry format like STL or Para Solid to import the geometry properly.
