I would like to briefly comment about my project. I am a relative beginner and therefore my doubts. I have the simulation of a wire drawing process in ANSYS Mechanical. In this process basically a wire of a certain diameter enters in another piece and comes out with a smaller diameter. Now my intention is to "cut" or "extract" a portion of the already drawn wire from the simulation and perform a tensile test on that part. My doubts are the following:

1. Is there a way (command or subroutine) to "cut or extract" a portion of the drawn wire

2. Would it be advisable to make that "cut or extraction" or would it be advisable to deactivate (ekill command?) everything that I do not need and then carry out the tenisle test there?
