Hi every one

I am working on an experimental investigation of thermal cracking induced in granite samples at moderate temperature (200 C°) and at room pressure.

The experiments are carried out on granite samples using two thermal schemas up to different temperature ranges [100 C°, 150 C° then 180 C°] : 1) slow heating and slow cooling 2) slow heating then a rapid quenching (abrupt cooling).

Contrary to the the recent works, I observed a slight increase in Vp at 180 C° than at 150 C° in the rapid quanching whilst the Vp in the slow heating and slow cooling normally decreases and no anomalies were observed.

Is it possible to have such a anomalies of Vp and what could rise it ?

Thank you for your attention !
