anointing is real. it can be felt , I am talking from experience time and again. As this observation can be seen to be more than scientific because it is divine-and proofs abound. This evidence also confirms the reality of GOD, maker of man. Does anyone dis agree with this postulation?

Thank you James Gary, my answer to your concern is yes and I will explain further. Yes, because when in 1Kings chapter 18:38, the fire of God fell via influence of anointing and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones , and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench,...; hence every living animal or inanimate object that was around during this episode felt anointing or power of God.

Is it different from burning matter?
If it is no different from 'normal' fire, then the inanimate objects are responding simply as they might from an ordinary flame.
You claim to have witnessed this 'fire'.
Were things burned by it as claimed in that quotation?
Fire of God is similar to natural fire the only difference is that not only that it can burn up objects or matter it can equally burn without consuming the items like the burning bush which Moses saw the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed at Mt Horeb(Exodus 3:2. The fire of God if it burnt and the flame does not consume its victim them it is a cleansing operation taking place. See Daniel 3:22-23; Psalm 97:3.
Interesting discussions. Sebastian, the faith we have in spiritual matters may not be proven physically, yet, we hold onto them because of faith (Hebrews 11:1). Nature reveals the existence of a creator (Romans 1:20). I respect your stand, Prof. Garry, but there are some things (spiritual) that Science cannot discern. This limitation is enough to justify the existence of the spiritual aspects of this life and the existence of a creator.

A quotation from a book does *not* demonstrate anything except that words have been recorded. I can write anything down or utter any phrase - quoting something does not make it true.
If, however, you can show me this fire, and show me it either consuming (or not consuming) something, then we may make some progress.
Anointing (the act of pouring special oil) is clearly a real thing. I do it to my bicycle chain every week or so.
But I am quite unsure about this fire-that-is-not-fire. Do you have photographs of it?
Yea, Gary, the things of God, though looks or sounds foolish to an unbeliever in God or a man of the world, are revealed to the believer by the Lord. You want me to show you a photograph of fire of God, that would amount to performing magic or putting God in a bottle. God manifests His power when he chooses to do that and when there is need as He did to Moses at Horeb. When the iron did swim in 2Kings6:6 as Prophet cut a stick and threw it into the water or river where the iron fell by way of spiritual displacement and all those who were present in that scene, sons of prophets, the widow, etc. This account was well documented and nobody has challenged it. Personally I have raised two people from dead in the name of Jesus, Simeon in my village and Ihuoma on campus, UNEC in 1983 and 1984 respectively and have waken two people from coma and these accounts are contained in my book ''faith to raise the dead'', which I may be forced to upload on the RG for all to read.
