For determination of low concentration of ammonia in fresh water and salt water i prepared sodium salicylate solution with sodium nitroprusside but its losses its stability with in two months and it will not showing any colour why?

Here i attached protocol what i prepared for making ammonia test kit for aqua formers
for detecting qualitative estimation of low level ammonia in fresh and salt water with free of cost, based on my research in fields i observed that there is no value deviation with comparing standard method (Spectrophotometry) but after three months value deviated like 0PPM(Yellow) water sample is showing 0.5PPM(light green) so please let me know is there any possibility for increasing test kit precision.
