Hello,
I conducted an wheat seed germination bioassay where the seeds were treated with 5,10 and 15% concentration of methanol, ethyl acetate and aqueous extracts of the aerial parts of Hygrophila spinosa.
After 5 and 10 days of treatment, shoot and root lengths of each seedling were recorded. What the data shows is that, the methanol and aqueous extract inhibited the root and shoot growth compared to control but the ethyl acetate extract had highly significant growth stimulatory effect.
Is it normal to have two different extract of the same plant parts to have opposite effects like this?
Thank you for your answer, really appreciate it.
