Normally the thickened sludge is kept in 'buffer tanks' before further dewatering. The buffer tanks should be aerated to avoid septic/anaerobic conditions. I am wondering how the air requirement in buffer tanks should be defined? How much air per defined volume of sludge?
The air supply in such tanks is done through the blower and diffuser and using a piping system. The amount of air depends on the volume of the sludge tank, the type of sludge, and the aeration time.
Yes, it depends on several parameters but lets consider biological sludge from MBBR, so how the aeration requirement should be calculated? have you seen the formula in the literature? Mahdi Motamedian
