I am about to start doing research about a teaching method. I have about five sessions to implement the proposed approach. I plan on doing a pre-test, teach the experimental group with the method in question, and finally doing a post-test.
Could anyone please tell me: what is the content I should put in the pre and post-tests? and what kind of statistics is the best in this case?
The subjects of the study are EST learners: an experimental group and a control group (of about 50 students each).

Hi Amer, can you elaborate more on the five methods? Is this 5 methods have 50 students each or 10 students per method?
@Demudu: I may have not well explained the aim of the study. What we do here is to check whether a given approach A is better than the classical approach B. So, we will use method A to teach the first group and method B to teach the other. The pretest aims at checking the homogeneity of the two group and it will be compared to the post-test applied on both groups, in order to measure the efficiency of the approach A. Thanks a lot.
Amer, based on what you have said you may try using the CRBD (Completely Randomized Block Design ) assuming the will be different teachers are teaching the different groups. What is important also that both groups should have students selected randomly to ensure there no bias. Actually there many designs available such CRD, CRBD, Latin Design and so on...We can choose the most appropriate based on our objectives and availability of experimental units.
