Hi - I'm doing an ABAQUS simulation for a simply support beam for a 3 point bending test. My load is a displacement load (-U2) on the loading pin (I initially did this as a static general and this worked ok. My model needs to take the beam into plasticity and release the pin and I want to measure springback. I've read that I have to do this by performing a dynamic explicit analysis and I can then import this back, get rid of the contact etc and parts that I don't need and I can simulate the springback. I did try a simple load and unload (from a simuleon tutorial using static general and although this worked I don't feel that the springback was correct). So I'm at the first stage of a dynamic explicit model and all seems to be going ok except that with a time set to 0.1 then the load is only displacing to 5mm (and my full displacement is -50mm in the boundary condition). I have an amplitude tabular set up correctly from 0,0 1,1 so I thought I would just get a straight ramp up of the displacement up to the full 50mm. Where have I gone wrong ? thanks,
