I haven't looked at any recent books, but the classics by Chris Cramer (Essential Computational Chemistry) and Frank Jensen (Introduction to Computational Chemistry) both come highly recommended!
There are lots of new books, so I will not introduce them to you here. Instead, when asked to introduce only one book of quantum chemistry from a student, I always recommend quantum chemistry by Henry Eyring. This book is a very old and historical book, but it is a book that students planning to specialize in quantum chemistry wants to read once. When I entered university, I was introduced to the teacher in the first quantum chemistry lecture. Even now, since the description of the transition state theory is excellent (proposed by Henry Eyring), I often read back.
