I carried out an extraction with methnol of roots and at the end of the extraction a precipitate has formed. Can anyone explain to me if this is normal? Should I analyse this precipitate or it is just an insoluble impurities?

In my humble opinion, If possible, separate some of the extract obtained with the formed precipitate and pass the rest through filter paper with a suitable mesh size. Then, Test the results after sample preparation for both samples with some of the common isolation and identification techniques. Compare the result and check the role of the solvent. If the variations made be contradictory based on the existing references, it should be repeated the extraction process, again.

It is possible that there are chemical components in your sample that are not soluble in Methanol. You can separate the sample using a normal gravity filtration setup.
