Dear all,

I read that a 21-point digital version of the Self-Assessment Manikin (SAM) Scale exists, but I haven't been able to find any visual examples or detailed descriptions of its implementation. Does anyone know how the visual format is structured? Are the traditional five manikins per dimension still used, with 4 bubbles between them and 1 bubble on each manikin, to create 21 response options?

I am also wondering what the potential advantages or disadvantages of using higher-resolution scales are. Would a finer scale, such as the 21-point version, better than for example the 9-point version at detecting subtle emotional differences? Does anyone have any experience with this?

Thank you in advance! 😊 Best regards

Nina
