Our university is considering Zoom for online classrooms.
Could instructors share their experience with it. please?
If not Zoom, what other software do people use for online classes.
I reside in Japan and as the corona virus is expanding. In all likely hood we may have to cancel or transfer all in classes to an online mode.
Zoom has had a few issues recently with security. It is (or was not the last time I checked) encrypted on both ends. It does seem to be reliable.

I have heard about that. Security issues about privacy. Only in the last couple of days have I started investigating the use of zoom. I will also look in to 'teams'.

Zoom is very much useful in attending different conferences held abroad.
But some times technical issues regarding conversations or other security. Overall this can be improved.
In one University I am contracted with all the Education Management in done in Microsoft Teams (from scheduling, assigning teacher and student, classrooms and e-rooms, to tasks and team collaboration to assessment). 5 stars for usability.
In the other one, we are using GoToMeeting (3 stars for usability), it allows us to schedule the meetings ahead, invite students through the uni learning platform using their uni emails, but it doesn't have polls or breakrooms as Zoom (4 stars).
