The FAO estimates that about 815 million people of the 7.6 billion people in the world, or 10.7%, were suffering from chronic undernourishment in 2016. There are 11 million people undernourished in developed countries . Children are the most visible victims of undernutrition. The global military expenditure was $1676 billion, about 2.3% of the world’s total Gross Domestic Product (GDP)..
Every one out of nine people do not have access to clean water today. 2.5 billion people do not have access to adequate sanitation, and every minute a child dies from a water-related disease. Annual global spending on education is 52 billion a year which is 3.2% of global military spending in 2015.
