Would you resign or still hold on to your position at an academic institution where the are seeming tensions ( eg. academic freedom and controversial issues stemming from teaching subject matter) between yourself and the institution or students?
Subject to what are your personal goals and ambition, it important to make sure that you have good reason to do so or not. As such, it is entirely your personal decision and only you can make that decision at the time that you feel is right. Naturally, having a plan B may always be good option. Set your goals and plan accordingly. Making quick decision may not be the best strategy in long term/ Best wishes.
I would not do so. Why should I run away from the situation? I would rather map up a new strategy to arrest the issue via sound research and dialogue. I am a researcher!
It is better to stay and resolve issues with your institution. Like other scholars outrightly suggested. You can only resign if there is a better offer waiting for you somewhere and not because of turbulence and trouble at workplace.
