I do appreciate if you kindly share your knowledge in this regards with me.
I am abit confused about connection of potentiostate electrodes to my MFC and MEC systems for different tests; polarization curve, CV, EIS.
I have a two chambered MFC and MEC , which has Ag/AgCl reference electrodes in each cathodic and anodic chambers.
may I know if this arrangment is true r if you have any reference in this regard?
polarization test:
WE and RE:cathode
CE;anode
CV test:
CE:anode
Ref:Ag/Agcl reference electrode in cathode
WE:cathode
???

Based on your analysis, you can select your WE. For example,if you need investigation oxidation/ redaction in cathode compartment, your working electrode is cathode electrode. one reference electrode is enough because based on mathematical equation you can find potential in anode or cathode chamber.

A microbial fuel cell (MFC) (or biological fuel cell) and Microbial Electrochemical Cell (MEC) both are bioelectrochemical systems.
Working electrode , reference electrode and counter electode in MFC, MEC tests
you can operate any three-electrode system as a two-electrode system by shorting the Counter and Reference electrodes.
