I am thinking of making a 2m line(wire) on a metal strip. I am having afraid of having too much parasitic capacitance w.r.t ground.
I want to measure strain gauge signal which is very small.
Does any body works on it?

It is the same problem that i have before.
Its in nF. This capacitance and resistance will make a low pass filter which will act as a black hole and will eat my signal :(

I have worked a lot with parasitic capacitance in circuits but I need more information to answer your question. Please give details.
A strain gage signal is usuall direct current so you should not have a problem. If you are using an RF signal to measure the strain gage, it should be low frequency. If you are using a bridge circuit with your strain gage, put that circuits as close to the strain gage as possible.

Thank you so much for your reply. The thing is,
I am using bridge circuit to measure the change/voltage. There are approx 16 strain gauge/DMS mounted (embedded) on a rail. The rail is basically a processing machine which is 2m long. In order to avoid using normal copper wires. The idea is to use micro strip wires. Since the distance is 2m, the measurement unit will be placed at one end.
This is my scenario.

Dear Mohamed, sorry your description is not expressive. I proposed previously that you show the testing circuit. There are many solutions for a given problem provided that you have to describe the problem precisely. May be one has to change completely the concept of the measurement. Sorry i can not locate your problem?
1) If your frequency of operation is low (KHz), micro strip line is simply a PCB track and will not have appreciable reactive effect
2) If you are using bridge circuit, four arms make such that micro strip (track) in all four arms are equal so that it remains balanced. If at all there is a small effect, it will compensate.
