Dear Michael Halim, in the long history of man on earth there have been many pandemics. The human species over the centuries has naturally survived all wars, earthquakes, pandemics, floods, etc., without the help of anything or anyone. Everything appeared naturally or through human insanity, as recalled by Hermann Gruenwald, and disappeared naturally or sometimes with the help of human wisdom at the cost of enormous sacrifices especially in terms of human lives sacrificed. Today and perhaps for almost a century, in addition to nature, there is also the significant and sometimes decisive help of science in general and of medical science in particular for what concerns pandemics. For all these reasons I believe that this pandemic will soon be overcome and left to history. Therefore, the question that haunts me most today is: "will man be wise enough to be able to survive the ongoing climate change?"
It is evident that epidemic diseases always appear in the wake of a significant perturbation of certain equilibrium. The historical note about the year 536 that preceded the Justinian Plague, is quite relevant to realize the invariance of certain conditions affecting our civilization.
