Will a non-poxviral genome that is placed under a poxviral promoter and between two pox viral genes be expressed by CMV promoter of pCIneo plasmid?

If I construct a recombinant plasmid in the following order of genes in pCIneo plasmid:

Fowlpox virus gene 1- early late promoter of poxviral origin - Non-poxviral gene - Fowlpox virus gene 2

Will CMV promoter be able to express the non-poxviral gene? Or the expression of the non-poxviral gene will be dependent upon the poxvirus promoter that was inserted?

The answer to your question will depend upon the strength (sequence) of the "early late promoter of poxviral origin" as compared with the CMV promoter. In general, the CMV promoter is considered to be "strong". If this is the case, the expression of the "non-viral gene" will be by and large from the CMV promoter. However, some transcription from the viral promoter could initiate.
