Why ZSM-5 reduced phenol content during pyriolysis?

Hello all,

I am working on the catalytic pyrolysis of biomass (agricultural biomass) using ZSM-5 at 600 oC. After analyzing GC-MS spectra, I found that the use of ZSM-5 reduced the phenol percentage than the non-catalytic pyrolysis. can anyone explain to me why this is happening?
