You raised an important point. One must be able to evaluate the risk of exposuring to COVID-19 as the pandemic evolved toward the third wave:

Because you will be infected a second time, and this is certain, but the symptoms of infection will not last for more than 24 hours, but will strengthen and perpetuate your immunity. I am talking about my experience after injury and recovery from it and not after the vaccination, but wearing a mask is a good habit that must be adhered to in crowded places and during close dialogue with people you think are infected
Wearing mask must be used to get prevent to catch the illness. On the other hand, we do not know when and how the current pandamy would be finished and also it has not been exactly confirmed or specified effectiveness and efficacy of the made vaccines in the world, yet. In fact, the clinical and human trials along with an international large/wide statistical society would be confirm that.
I expect many people will be asking the same question. I will abide with the latest advice given and adhere to whatever rules we are all expected to follow on this one.
For more protection. The vaccine will protect you from getting ill and then ending up hospitalized. But it's possible that you could still carry the virus and be contagious to others. So those who get the vaccine should still be wearing masks and practicing physical distancing.
Good responses above from Prof Lamia Mustafa Al-Naama; worth reading the NY Times link. We are building on our knowledge as time goes on. Also the link from Dr Arvind Singh from the Philadelphia Inquirer. These are situations that we have never been in before.
