As you can see below an SEM image of a rubber (this rubber formulated with EPDM + blowing agent'OBSH' + oil + other chemicals agent), I recently noticed that the material contains a lot of bubbles next to the fiberglass(used to reinforce the material), can this bubble defect be linked to physical bonds between the fiberglass and the blowing agent or to a bad dispersion of the blowing agent in the matrix or other parameters.

1: fiberglass,

2: homogeneous pores obtained after expansion,

3: surface defect,

What is the potentiel root cause ?

Thank you for your collaboration.
