I made a full model for a 4 point loading RC beam using ABAQUS but flexural failure happened accompanied with little shear, i took the same data in the experimental in which pure flexural failure happened !! Can anyone help me?
direction 1 is the longitudinal
2 is the loading direction
3 is the out of plane
S11 is found in longitudinal Reinforcement and ( also in the stirrups !! ) i don`t know why ??? i think in the stirrups it is supposed to be S22
Did you set "contact" between the two materials?
If I were you I would try to change the loading and watch the new behavior and then try to find the error.

You can model the beam as a plane stress problem. If you took quarter of the beam in the analysis you should model the stirrups as embedded bars and take the area of one leg of the stirrups if it is a U shape or closed stirrup.
I checked the Boundary Conditions but there`s no S22 shown in the stirrups i don`t know why !!
Stresses will not be created in the stirrups if the beam exhibiting flexural failure. In case of shear failure, stresses will be induced in the stirrups.
My case is shear failure but the stirrups color is white. and there`s no white color in the contours. May be abaqus does not show S22 in truss element used for stirrups ??
