I found average Mw of Protamine protein in Salmon 4500 in one literature but there is a range 5000-10,000 in Sigma-Aldrich Protamine from Salmon. As I know, one specific protein from individual species must have defined amino acid sequence, so there must be definite Mw based on Mw of amino acids present on this protein.

(4) Preparation of "protein" may contain multiple splicing variants from a single gene, depending on how the protein was prepared
Proteins undergo post-translational modulation (glycosylation, acetylation, binding with other proteins) as well as protease -dependent degradation, both of which cause several different MW (molecular weight) proteins.

In addition to what is said by Shin-Ichiro Hiraga and Jasim Al-Saadi it could be that in your case the ‘problem’ is that Salmonid fish contains different protamine proteins.
According to the paper in the link below Salmon can have and I quote “as many as 15 closely related protamine genes per haploid genome, coding for as many as six different proteins” (see link and mentioned references in it).
In other words it very much depends on which protamine protein is meant.
