I have performed the reduction of 4-nitrophenol, 2-nitrophenol using different catalysts. Each material (MCN and MCNP) reduced the nitro compounds at different times. It follows pseudo-first-order kinetics. MCN is an effective catalyst for the reduction of nitro compounds than MCNP. But the rate constant value is higher for MCNP than MCN and R square value is high for MCN than MCNP. What is the reason?
