I encountered a similar phenomenon when I was working on my project.

In my opinion, the larger membrane you have, the less the rejection factor would have happened. It's because of the membranes fabrication process. For example, the majority of electrospun nanofibrous membranes have a similar problem just because of their structure and morphology.
