We got the fiber glass from BOSCH HighTemperature Filter. On the one hand , the fiber glass was directly examined by FTIR alone. On the othe hand , the fiber glass was immersed in monoclonal antibody drug for 4 days , and then was examined by FTIR . However , the peak intensity of the two spectrum varied .
What is the pH of the monoclonal antibody drug solution you used? If it was acidic, the components of glass fibers could be dissolved during the 4 days of immersion. I do not know which glass fiber you used, but the usual glass fibers used for composite material is E-glass fibers which has 55% silica and the rest are alkaline earth oxides and other components. These components can easily dissolve in an acidic solution leaving the silica network. Thus, after such a long immersion period, the infrared spectrum resembles more closely to silica rather than E-glass.
Hello, Changes in IR spectra can be induced by changes in internal stresses due to changes in chemical bonds, structure and defects in very low concentrations. These changes influence material properties such as shock sensitivity of explosives, cohesive energy, aging kinetics, etc., hence their importance. In insulators, these variations are correlated with those of the surface and volume charge properties.
