When I look the review of my article citation, I wonder google scholar citation shows quite higher number of citations but on the other hand RG shows very few citations. For example: Citation of 2017 is shown as 38 by google scholar and only 24 by RG. Will you please helpme to understand why it differs?
If you click on the number of citations in RG, a small pop-up message will appear indicating that this number is based on articles in our database and may not be exhaustive. This is because not all authors upload their documents to RG, some for not caring and some for copyright issues with journals. Therefore, the number of citations for a certain author on RG will always be smaller than Google scholar, which is a more sensitive search engine. However, frquently you will notice that RG catches some citations earlier than scholar.
