Why tetragonal structures show peak splitting (majorly at 2θ ̴ 45°) in ABO3 type structures?
d^-2 = (h^2+k^2)/a^2+l^2/c^2 with the d spacing d, hkl as the Laue indices and a and c as the tetragonal lattice parameters, referring the oringal cubic unit cell (just in case that you have some more complicated superstructure). This gives different d(hkl) for d(100) and d(001). This splitting is most pronounced for {h00} reflections and absent for
Accordingly you have reflection spitting of the {111} reflections for rhombohedral perowskites.
