Why solid state reaction method is better for 2D metal sulphide nanostructure as compare to other methods?

There are a lots of methods for 2D material synthesis as hydrothermal, CVD, sol-gel etc but some use solid state reaction method for this. which method is best for this.

Solid-state reaction is preferred to produce 2D metal sulfide nanostructures due to its simplicity, scalability, and morphological and structure control. Solid-state reactions heat precursor materials in a controlled environment to produce nanostructures with high purity, crystallinity, and cost.
