Why should time derivative of continuity equation be subtracted from the divergence of momentum equation for derivation of Lighthill's analogy?

The derivative of the continuity equation{A} indicates the variation of mass flow rate in the control volume and the divergence of the momentum equation {B} indicates whether the control volume is a source or sink of momentum.

What does the difference {A-B} between the two mean physically?
