I am currently using Isight and Abaqus to investigate the reaction force generated from a simple uniaxial tensile test (strip shape).
I modelled geometry using Abaqus (50mm-width, 30mm-height, 2mm-thickness) and 10mm extension-upper edge and Encastre-lower edge. I requested a reaction force from upper edge (History output). It works this is fine.
In terms of Isight, am trying to change height from 30mm to 40mm and want to see the reaction force depending on the different height (Design of Experiment).
However, once height is over 32mm, a reaction force from a node becomes zero. 30, 31, 32mm is fine. It seems like there is a issue when Isight tries to re-mesh the model.
I am wondering why Isight shows reaction force zero at the node (Not all node) once the variable is over certain length.

Have you checked that the mesh is correctly created by Abaqus at every iteration of Isight? I run a similar program using Python and I've noticed that Abaqus' mesh module fails silently when it does. Which means that I get a problem only later, when I'm running the analysis and part of the results is missing or incorrectly set to zero.
Shouldn't there be a .cae and/or .odb file for each variation of the design? Abaqus is still called to solve the FEM problem, so its output is stored. You can check those files to see the quality of the model.
