It has been well observe that, present generation students are less interested in scientific research compared to past. This may impact a lots. How we can solve the problem.
Loosing interest in research and publiction. Ingeneral visible in universities , Experienced by professors/ Scientists/ teachers , scientific/research articles and publishes of repute journals and many more. Some countries may have exceptional.
In many countries there is no proper system which can help scientific research to public. Many out standing peoples (students, professors) go out of their own tertiary because there is no proper facility, man power for research work.
Ultimately Peoples are loosing interest in scientific research and publication ........
Virendra Kumar Saxena and Vinod Potdar How is this “loss of interest in research” being measured in research studies in the peer-reviewed scientific literature?
It may be due to work pressure, repeating same kind of work from years together, no new technology during research. No funds for work, administration issues (if no one recommend work done by any researchers).
Partly due to poor orientation and attitude shown by some supposed supervisors/research mentors and partly due to funds. Government and agencies should do something to redeem this image
Most of the publications originate from some project that is sponsored by government funds wherein the publications are purely academic. Many so called popular researchers bluff the governments with such academic research with no bearing on social impact. While the researchers in private sector will never have funds to do some research because private sector works more profit or RoI oriented. Sometimes due corporate restrictions obstruct enthusiastic researchers. While enthusiastic researchers in private organisations are handicapped with no funds, government scientists just produce papers academic interest from their projects. Private sector organisations especially in India must be recognised as R&D centres with proper funds so that high quality and transparent research occurs. The reason why I say 'transparent is, I saw one University professor in India who did geochemical nalysis of 1 sample and manipulated 120 samples just be changing readings slightly.. i. e. For instance a reading 56.6to 56.5, 55.9, etc. How ridiculous it is..
Difficult to get funding. Publication of a paper passes throuh various channels which are beyand our control. Thus take lots of time for acceptance of a paper. After this publication which take months.
