Virendra - RG's use is in 'connecting' scholars. I promote my research and I can see from the stats that many people access my work. I have had quite a few research opportunities, publishing opportunities and mentoring opportunities via RG - to the extent that I have to evaluate according to their 'quality'.
Goli , RG is a good platform to develop our reseach activity. It depend ,how best one can use this. Regarding specific areas , question / answer / SMS/ E-mail and many more services have been provided.
I have two main reasons for being active on ResearchGate.
One is that I promote my own work, which results in more citations. In addition, my RG score is impressive because it has reached a level that is above most other ResearchGate members.
But the other reason is that I truly believe that senior faculty have an obligation to mentor and support less experienced researchers and writers. I am happy to give advice or perspective to others, based on my expertise.
Absolutely correct. ResearchGate provide the avenues and platforms for scholars/researchers to interact and network. It markets researchers and gives their work a global colouration.
According to its nature, the main beneficial influences of Researchgate are getting useful feedback, increasing work visibility, and sharing knowledge among researchers.
RG is a very helpful platform to stay informed about the latest developments in your research , clarify technical doubts, collaborate with researchers from different parts of the world to work on a project, share your work as well as view other esteemed researchers working in your area.
