Dyslexia and dysgraphia are reading and writing disorders. These conditions are appeared from the children as well as adults. Children who have this condition (Developmental Dyslexia) face so many learning problems. Because there future is depended on there level of education. Adults who might face this problem (Acquired Dyslexia) as a late disease. Dysgraphia is also the same as dyslexia. But still 80% people in the world do not know about this condition. The causes for them are neurological. Therefore it is difficult to become normal. These conditions can be seen from intelligible people. We should find out a way to educate them.
The presence of difficulties in reading and writing in childhood can affect the development of the brain in the future. The causes can be neurological, neuropsychological, social and cultural. It is possible to monitor these alterations in time with medical, social, educational and family interventions. For this, an attentive multidisciplinary team is required.
This topic is really interesting and as you said Miss Wijesekara , we must improve the means for more people to identify these problems early and not only be a reason for bullying in schools, considering that dyslexia has a frequent stimate 5-8 per cent of the world‘s populations experiences the kinds of difficulties with reading and writing that meet the criteria for a dyslexia diagnosis . Early interventions and action programs for dyslexic children often concentrate on promoting learning development and quality of life.
Some test may predict dyslexia even before children have been formally taught to read and write in school. For instance , rapid automatized naming (RAN) , deficits in phonological awareness or letter knowledge can be detected early and may be associated with dyslexia.
I think that we should describe benefits and potential risk of such early testing procedure and intervention for children before they hace begun school.
Very good Mr. Carlos'. You are correct. I have identified the linguistic characteristics of Sinhala language reading. Sinhala is a language which has a syllabic writing system. Yet still I could not apply how to improve their reading skills. Thank you very much for your consideration for this matter.
