The median is the central most value among data points and so should have been the most popular statistics for describing the center vis-a-vis the distribution of a given population but rather the mean is used most of the time. Could some explain to me why it is so especially when determining the salary of workers knowing the extreme value disadvantage of the mean. The situation here is strictly quantitative. Thank you
