I am trying to understand why most papers use UV light at 365 nm for crosslinking of Gelatin Methacryloyl/Irgacure 2959 solution. I cannot find any UV Vis spectrum that shows me that 365 nm is the excitation max to photo-crosslink this hydrogel. Any help will be very appreciated!

365 nm is not the maximum absorbance wavelength of I2959, but is still located in the range of the excitation.
Maybe just due to the limited wavelength of the commercially-available UV lamp?

I guess the mentioned contribution use a UV-LED and indeed the one with the shortes wavelength and sufficient intensity is 365 nm e.g. with 18 mW/cm2 at the sample form thorlaps. A 405 nm LED have more than 110 mW/cm2. The effect of the wavelength on the reaction is visualised in the publication.

You can also cross-link using standard UV filter 320-500 nm if you are using IC2959. It worked for me with suitable IC2959 concentrations

The max and isn't in UVA, it is UVB and UVC, but UVA is more penetrating.
Hi. could anybody advise how to accelerate curing time of photo initiator irgacure 2959? is there any suitable inhibitor used to make it fast cured the solvent.

Normally this absorption wavelength is due to initiator, which is help the GelMA to polymerize.

Irgacure 2959: its maximum excitation occurs at around 276 nm; Irgacure 2959 above 0.01% can be initiated even upon exposure to 365 nm ( under a UV intensity of 2-100 mW/cm2) whose wave length is relatively safe for cell encapsulation. LAP (Lithium phenyl-2,4,6-trimethylbenzoylphosphinate ): its maximum excitation takes place at around 370 nm; LAP can be initiated even upon exposure to 400 nm (visible light), which makes LAP suitable for biological applications. Besides, LAP has higher water solubility, compared with Irgacure 2959. However, LAP is much more expensive than Irgacure 2959.
