I am trying to validate VUMAT (provided by Simulia and modified by me) written for the progressive damage analysis of CFRP rods with the help of problem dealt by Fang et al. (2021), "Investigation on failure behavior of carbon fiber reinforced polymer wire subjected to combined tension and bending". The input file for the ABAQUS model could be found in attachment. The model provides exact results, once just the axial force is applied. However, once axial load and bending loads are combined, the results for maximum vertical bending load at failure are 10 times smaller than the actual result. I would be truly obliged if someone could help me through it.
