This question is aimed at solving the traffic problem of Pune City where we are trying to select one of the Public transport systems between BRTS and MRTS, which further will be analyzed and proposed at the completion of our Thesis study.
There are four categories as we divide transportation system in, Category A, B, C and D. where the MRTS (Metro) is index in Category A, which is usually independent and separated system, and don't have any interaction with other transit modes, while BRTS (Bus Rapid Transit) depends on the country, location scenario. it could be A, B or C, if it exists index n category B, then it will interact with another transit mode only at intersection or crossing, but if it exists in category C, then its a pure shared system, the example you can take from Europe such as Tram system. tats the first indicator you need to understand, indexing nature, and categories this herierichal category.
The effectiveness of BRTS and MRTS can be classified on the bases of parameters such as speed, reliability, capacity, riding comfort, safety, identity and image, passenger attraction ratio, operational performance, investment costs, due to exclusive facilities along entire line length, passenger volumes, percentage of required land use, fail-safe operation prevention, investment cost , type of network, Vehicle guidance system (vehicles steered by driver VS guided transit systems),
