I believe psychology can be approached scientifically and that most academic psychologists are indeed scientists. However, it is an interesting intellectual exercise to have an internal debate against arguments which claim psychology is never/cannot be science. Of course, if you focus too much on what people think, you will drive yourself crazy. Some people will always think psychology is pre-science or pseudoscience. However, it's worth thinking about what kind of case you would make if the topic ever came up in a discussion or debate. So, fellow psychologists, what would you tell someone who told you you're not a real scientist and that your work is pseudoscientific?
