I am working with High DC regulated power supply for Electrocoagulation experiments using Al electrodes, the aim being fixing the voltage and vary current. And am facing the following abnormalities.

1. When I fix voltage at 7V and current 4.8A the output current start reading at 1.9A but going up to 2.8A after 1HR. The conductivity was adjusted using 1.5g/L NaCl.

2. When I tried to reduce the current to 2.4A living the same voltage of 7V, the output current started reading at 1.9A, it then shoot up to 2.3A in 20min and stopped, surprisingly the voltage then started to drop to 5.8V after 1HR.

Any explanation on how to maintain the same voltage even when the current is varied. i.e I want to fix the voltage at 7V but working with this voltage at different current densities.
