Dear scientists/ colleagues,

I am curious to prepare a 500mL of 50× TAE buffer (Tris Acetate EDTA): using 121g of Tris base(121.14 g mol-1) + 28.55 mL of glacial acetic acid + 50 mL of 0.5 M EDTA (pH 8.0) (372.24 g mol-1) + deionized water

In the preparation of 250 mL of 0.5 M EDTA (pH 8.0), I tried to dissolve 46.53 g of disodium EDTA quantitatively in a 150 mL of deionized water under magnetic stirrer while balancing pH 8.0 using (0.1M HCl/0.1M NaOH), However I could dissolve only a little amount of EDTA out of the total mass. I can't figure out where is the technical error hidden? Have you ever experienced this when preparing this solution? Can I use a sonicator?
