during high temperature synthesis of CdSe Quantum dot using CdO/TOPO/TDPA and TOPSe, when i am adding TOPSe at high temperature the whole solution is getting black and the fluorescence intensity is also quenched.
obviously you are trying to mage CdSe QD even if they are big du to the bulk band gap of CdSe thatshould stay red. however at high temperature they material tend to shift and may be dark brown with very low PL efficiency. Does the material stay black once cooled to room T ?
It may also occurs that some precursor may degrade if you perform the sysnthesis at too high temperature. More than 300°C is very likely suspicisous
