The only way to understand how nature works is to look at it and then use logic and reason to understand and explain what you see. Newton was one of the first to interrogate Nature using the principles of what we now call the ‘scientific method’. In other words he observed the world, came up with theories to explain what he saw, then tested them with experiments to see if he was right. The commercial factor is dominant; who would be interested in a scientificically more realistic account of human sexuality ? It is like the fairy-tale "thousand and one nights"
100% agreed. But scientists are supposed to be interested in establishing truths that go beyond politics, financial gain and general popularity. Look at Darwin. He was excommunicated by the Church for saying that men evolved from apes. Others were forced to leave their country or were imprisoned for saying that the earth goes round the sun etc. The history of science is about our freedom to express truths that are unpopular. But eventually these truths are established. It takes one brave individual to persevere and suffer the disapproval of the society around them. I am happy to be such a person. It is the universal censorship of all sexual content that makes the topic difficult to discuss. The taboo of sex, women's dislike of the topic and men's sexual ego are all obstacles. If I fail, then there will be someone else in the future. Kinsey and Hite both tried. I have the benefit of the internet if I can avoid being banned everywhere for talking about a topic most people prefer not to have discussed. There's a lot of exploitation and manipulation that people want covered up, plus of course the billions of dollars that are made from the sex industry: prostitution, pornography and so-called sex therapy, which tells people they have non-existent sexual dysfunctions that are a normal part of human sexual behaviour.
